The game changer book l m trio

Now I have to wait! Review to come.. View 1 comment. Feb 10, Sandie rated it it was amazing. Without question, this is a very dynamic story with a chilling and completely unexpected ending. The book and the last few chapters of it could easily spurn a fiery debate about love, lies, truth and justice. It isn't just a story about growing up and accepting loss; it is about friendships, jealousy, fear, love and the brutal realities of life and how truly unfair it can be. Although I refuse to give away any spoilers, I have to say that I woke up the morning after reading this story wondering Without question, this is a very dynamic story with a chilling and completely unexpected ending.

Although I refuse to give away any spoilers, I have to say that I woke up the morning after reading this story wondering how many people are suffering the same fate as Luke just because they made that split second decision to get involved and try to do what was right. It really makes you wonder.

I loved how the author wrote Luke. It was incredible to witness the evolution of his feelings for Jesse and how conflicted he was as he tried, in vain, to fight against them. It was a losing battle right from the start. The emotional upheaval he suffers toward the end of the book is crushing. Jesse is an interesting character — she is so honest and unashamed to ask about the things she doesn't understand and to allow those around her to help her learn even about the most intimate things.

I think it was one of the things that made Luke a better man - his ability to talk so openly and honestly with her was truly endearing and it showed the reader just how connected to each other these two were.

However, as with most people, Luke is far from perfect and he proves that over and over again especially with the nasty little jealous streak that seems to have him wrapped firmly in its grasp. The ending was bitter and difficult but if there was no conflict or angst, what would the point of the story be? If they got married, had babies and lived happily ever after without ever having their relationship challenged there would be no point in even writing about them.

People have happily fed off of the misery of others for centuries, why should modern day America be any different? I really liked this book. It was very well written with both dynamic and somber relationships, angst, love, conflict and several shades of grief. Well done! Feb 09, Missy Fitch rated it it was ok. The plot was good It started out with a girl, Jesse.. She had been in a terrible accident with her mother. Her mother dies and Jesse has a brake down. She and her father move after the accident and she starts to live and love again. She and Luke get together and start a life. He is a local baseball hero and gets drafted to the pros.

They start to plan a life together after What to say about this book They start to plan a life together after getting through all their issues This was the good part. I read through the whole book only to have view spoiler [ the hero end up in jail and dumping Jesse while she is right back where she started in the beginning of the book!

Really, why did I read this whole book only to have Jesse even more depressed and heartbroken and disillusioned than when the book started. If this is the authors version of a good ending for a book then I will not be reading another of her works.

Though, I like the real-life feel side story, ie. Does that make sense? This book felt so real to me and I could relate to a lot in the book. The characters were the best! So complicated and changing; it was like watching them grow up. The dynamics in the relationships were ever-c My most favorite book of the year, by far!

The dynamics in the relationships were ever-changing, the story was so very bittersweet, and Luke was super cute and so funny. I laughed so much throughout this book at the shenanigans the characters got themselves into. I awed and swooned at the lovey aspects. I received ulcers at some points. And throughout most of it, I had a huge grin on my face. Perfect book. All books I've read since this one has been overshadowed by this book.

This is one of those books that you can't easily get over, and you'll think about it for weeks afterwards. Awesome, awesome debut book by a new author!

I can't wait to see what else Trio comes up with. I'm a fan for life! If I could give this book ten stars, I so would! View all 16 comments.

Feb 16, Anne OK rated it really liked it Shelves: reads. Another dang super duper shocking cliffhanger ending that won't be addressed until June Oh well, this one knocked it out of the ball park for me and I'll gladly pay the dues and wait for the next book to arrive. Feb 07, Christyn The Book Cafe rated it really liked it.

You see, I obviously don't pay attention to details when I should. I read this thinking "It will be awesome. Recommended to me by someone who has awesome taste. Will be a great book. Why Luke, why?!

I can't even give this a coherent review. It made me go thru way too many emotions in way too short of a span of time. Yeah, I loved it thanks Kristin! Feb 23, Hayley rated it it was amazing. My heart is in my throat and I'm trying to hold back from crying.

But never have I wanted or should I say needed the second book, after reading the first one, so badly but The Game Changer has done this to me. JJ and her dad David decided a change is in order after they both suffered a tragic loss. Upon arriving on Seascape Drive, JJ would have no idea how her life could and would change. Luke and Mikey are some what stars of Bay Point and also live right across the street from David and his dau My heart is in my throat and I'm trying to hold back from crying.

Luke and Mikey are some what stars of Bay Point and also live right across the street from David and his daughter, along with Deanna or De, as we come to know her, Luke's sister. But after Luke and JJ meet, what transpires is a breath taking, magical, captivating journey, that I couldn't stop wanting more of. That is until life can suddenly twist and what you know or believe can suddenly change and not for the good.

The Game Changer had my attention even before chapter one, the prologue had me sat there with a lump in my throat and I knew then that I was in for an emotional journey that I would grow to love. But the ending I'm so relieved there is a book two as I would be in so much more of a state if there wasn't. Can't wait to see what happens between De and Mikey, something has to happen I hope I wish I could rate The Game Changer with way more then five stars as it really does deserve it.

You need to find out for yourself Feb 18, Zoe and the Edge marked it as dnf Shelves: romance , ya. I liked it and then I didn't. A few peeves: 1. Jesse goes on and on about how gorgeous her best friend Deanna is.

Jesse has absolutely no personality. The plot is so damn slow I knew I wouldn't make it to end. Jesse's got the beautiful and mysterious thing going for her. She's quiet and just learning to live again so she seems so wise and content. Even though she's younger than Luke, she can be qui I liked it and then I didn't.

Even though she's younger than Luke, she can be quite maternal sometimes with the way she's so patient with him or how she doesn't fall for his games.

At the same time, he kind of acts like her older brother. Luke is a charmer. Everyone loves him and he has a lot of friends and of course he gets around. View 2 comments. Mar 14, Ruby rated it liked it. WEll, well, well. Ok, im actually being mean with only a 3 but i didnt feel that it was worthy of a 4.

I'm not really sure what to say about this book. It was good. Lets see I liked the start. The start was good. I liked the easy banter between Jesse and Luke that was constant through out the story. At times it actually made me laugh out loud. I think that Mikey and De are meant to be together but theyr Well. I think that Mikey and De are meant to be together but theyre too blind to see it.

I think Luke was a little TOO nice for a womanizer and that Jesse had waaaaaaaaaay to many guys asking her out. But regardless of this it was the sex- in some cases literally.

The story was good and Jesse's past was well-captured and believable. Throughout the book there was this sense of impending doom or plot twist or whatever its called where something monumentos happens and you have no idea if the characters, who youve of course grown emotionally attatched to, will survive.

I never would have guessed! I will definitely buy the next book! Mar 18, Whitney rated it really liked it Shelves: 4stars-good , contemporary , reviewed , young-adult , sports-romance , kindle-own. The Game Changer starts out with JJ and her dad moving to a new town to get away from the memories of her mother passing away in a horrible car accident. It had been very hard for JJ to move on from that since she was also in the car with her mom.

Once the get to this new town, she starts to make new friends with the people across the street, De, her brother Luke, and Mikey. Luke and JJ get very close through the book, and start to have feelings for each other that go beyond friendship.

Neither The Game Changer starts out with JJ and her dad moving to a new town to get away from the memories of her mother passing away in a horrible car accident. Neither one of them has every been in a relationship before now, and are a little unsure of what to do next, or what to expect. But they have a wonderful friendship together.

Luke and Mikey are also the "town celebrities" they are both very good baseball players, both hoping to play in MLB. I really enjoyed this story. I love how Luke and JJ talk to each other about everything, they really truly are best friends, and it makes their relationship so much better because of this. I was able to feel all of the emotions coming from both of them throughout this book.

However in the end, I was seriously thrown for a loop, something so unexpected happened and I was left reeling! May 28, Stief rated it it was amazing Shelves: favorites. Well I've recently re-read this to get it fresh in my mind for the second book. I like how there are two POVs in the story and we get to see how they each feel. To summarise- - great relationship build up, chemistry, easy going, openness and communication between the 2 main characters. Funny friends and strong friends. Storyline- easy and sweet until something shakes you out of it, leaving you wanting more.

I'm on Book 2 already- I can't stop reading. Lovely writing by L. M Trio- really enjoyed this! Feb 09, Sam rated it really liked it. I really enjoyed reading this! This is more than your typical love story. It's a wonderful story of love, trust, accepting loss and friendship as well as the unexpected twists that come with it. This was very well written and truly captivating and constantly evolving.

It really drew me into the lives of these characters who already had so much going against them. A completely unexpected ending but now I can't wait to read the sequel I really enjoyed reading this! The characters are well developed and the whole storyline was intriguing, and as for the ending well that was a was totally blindsided me - something very rare in this genre of book.

It's not often I am left wondering "What the hell just happened" when finishing a book. But therein lies the beauty of this book, it quietly draws you in and then BAM the unexpected happens! The book is quietly beautiful, there, but it just works on so many different levels. The main characters Luke and Jesse combine so well you want them to have their happy ever after and it looks like that is about to happen when the bombshell ending happens.

Also the supporting characters of Mikey and Deanna are so strong and massively likeable you feel that there is a book to be written about their story. I'm so glad I purchased this book and I am now waiting impatiently for 'The game changer: the final score' to be released. It's funny but like a lot of people I have been waiting for the sequel to J.

Sterling's 'The perfect game' which is also called 'The game changer' to be released and seeing this I bought it on impulse - I found the warning about titles with the same name on the book description of Amazon really endearing! I'm so glad that I did as it was a perfect read and I cannot wait to see what happens next! Feb 22, Beverly rated it it was amazing. Mar 31, Krystle rated it it was amazing. It felt as if the author had reached Luke and JJs story end and then wrote a few chapters focusing on Deanna and Mikey- so 2 books in one really.

This let the book down a little purely because of the structure, it was still good but just went off on a tangent. I loved the relationship between all the characters, the feeling of community, closeness between families and the support they all give each other.

It was quite a long read but I enjoyed it especially the first half. It was a sweet and endearing story. Apr 03, J rated it it was amazing. Ahhhh Finally!!!!!!!!! Stayed up all night reading this! Loved it! Loved everyone even Frank!

I really fell in love with him in this one!!! Mar 13, Kerry Matchett rated it it was amazing. The first book to this series was brilliant and left us devastated and needing more. It's still not a series I find myself wanting to reread, but I liked the closure from the first book. When You know you know I loved how everything was tied up and you get a nice epilogue! This was a cute series that was fun to read. Told in all POV for this last book which was awesome! I thought I couldn't like Mikey any more! I actually liked the 2nd book more than the first. This story continues with Luke being released from prison early. We get to see his perspective on how life was like while in prison. It was really hard for him. And he never stopped loving JJ. Meanwhile JJ is trying her hardest to forget about Luke. It hurts to much to think about everything that happened.

She's in college now, and her painting career is taking off. JJ doesn't ever talk to anyone about Luke, but ever now and then Deanna and Mikey may give her a few updates. But most of the time This story continues with Luke being released from prison early. But most of the time that is topic that is not talked about. While we get to see Luke get released and try his hardest to get JJ back.

We also get to take a look at Mikey and Deanna's relationship progressing. Or at times regressing. Those to give me a headache. They were so much worse than Luke, and JJ. At least Luke and JJ had a major reason for not being together like Luke going to prison. Mikey and Deanna just drove me nuts, I felt like they were both cowards, and I wasn't impressed with there small parts at all. However what made the book good was actually JJ and Luke. When they finally got a chance to see each other again, they didn't play games.

Which was so refreshing. They just actually talked about everything, and then took time to work on their relationship. It wasn't something that was long and drawn out, it was sweet, and intimate.

I really enjoyed seeing there story. And the ending epilogue was awesome. We get to see five years into the future, and I loved it. I do recommend this book, and the first one. So Overall I would say the book was okay. Mar 31, Krystle rated it it was amazing.

I just loved everything about him!!! I feel like I cant really talk about this book without giving it away by spoiling the story, but what would you do if u were broken from events and unspoken words, then to be able fix yourself and be what you deserve to be, but not having the love of your life beside you because your both left it too long and one felt they didn't deserve the other ones love YES that's what you do u luke you fight because something's are just meant to be.

I loved the end and totally happy!!!! Mar 15, Marie rated it it was amazing. I have been waiting for this book since the first one came out.

This story kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time! My heart was broken at the beginning, not knowing if Luke would be the lovable guy that we met in the first book. Then I was nervous that JJ had moved on. Then I got even more nervous that Deanna was getting t I have been waiting for this book since the first one came out. But I was floored by Mikey's dilemma Anyways, there is one thing that I didn't care for about this book and the is the team that they had played in the epilogue..

Haha but that is very small problem I had with this book. Trio's ability to pull the reader into the story is amazing. I read the book in just hours and will probably re-read it again in the near future. Another thing I enjoyed about this book is that we not only got to read that JJ and Luke were thinking but also what Deanna and Mikey were thinking.

But mostly what I loved about this book it just proves that no matter that problems arise in your life the people that love you, family and friends, will always stand by your side through it all. May 31, Fiona Louise rated it it was amazing Shelves: favorite-books. The second book actually increased my love for the book series. Despite the cliff hanger in the first book, this book made me fall in love with Luke Di'Angelo more! Before I started this book, I was like asking myself if I was emotionally prepared for this book.

Once I started to read it, I never regretted it. It pissed me off because Lora got into their way, but who cares? This book series made me laugh, made me cry, made me blush and drove me insane in one sitting. I keep on re-reading this book series because it is my favorite. If I say that this book will keep you up all night from first book to last, then yes. It actually kept me up all night. I ate my meals fast just to finish this amazing book. I somehow wish that L. Trio would write another book like this!

Can someone just be my Luke D'Angelo someday? Apr 25, Lia rated it really liked it Shelves: hot-athletes. I enjoyed this book more than the first. It didn't drag on and it kept my interest. It picks up a couple months down the road from where book one ended, but it moves quickly. Luke, Jesse, Deanna and Mikey have all been through a lot. Jesse is still hurting after what Luke did. Luke is angry, broken and shutting out everyone he loves. And Mikey and Deanna are trying to keep their family together and trying to help Jesse cope and move on.

Fast forward a couple years Luke believes th 4. Luke believes that his life is worth nothing. He thinks that after what he's done, his baseball career is over.

And he certainly doesn't think he deserves to have Jesse back in his life. After some time of healing, he moves past those doubts.

And moves on to baseball and to win back the only girl he'll ever love. This book is about love, forgiveness, and moving on. I love how L. Trio had this book cover such an extended period of time.

It didn't feel rushed or as if I was missing any detail. It was nice to see how these relationships and careers panned out. I truly enjoyed this series! Mar 05, Gemma rated it really liked it Recommends it for: Young Adults. I was so excited when I saw that this sequel had been published! Unfortunately I found it hard to get into at the beginning due to the very fast pace of the book [Skipping through time] but once I got into it I couldn't leave it down!

I loved how the book equally centered around the two couples this time and I found myself falling in love with Mikey - just like I fell for Luke in book 1. Being able to read the pov of each character was refreshing and gave the reader a good insight into the thoug I was so excited when I saw that this sequel had been published!

Being able to read the pov of each character was refreshing and gave the reader a good insight into the thoughts of everyone not just Luke or JJ. I have to admit I was a little bit disappointed with the epilogue. I expected the book to end with a bang but instead I found myself extremely confused as I began to read the epilogue as it was very fast paced.

Overall it's a great book though, maybe a little more time could have been taken to make the book a bit longer so that the time didn't seem to fly as fast as it did but I thoroughly enjoyed it! If you've read book 1 you HAVE to read this Jun 02, Delaney rated it it was amazing. Such a perfect second book that lived up to my expectations! I literally started uncontrollably crying when Luke was on his knees begging for forgiveness and crying in her lap, the tears wouldn't stop coming.

Then what was going on between Mikey and Luke's sister was awesome too! The only thing that i didn't like was how they did the epilogue and all of them were older with kids, I don't know maybe i just would have liked to think of them as young forever and not ever growing up but i guess the Such a perfect second book that lived up to my expectations!

The only thing that i didn't like was how they did the epilogue and all of them were older with kids, I don't know maybe i just would have liked to think of them as young forever and not ever growing up but i guess the book had to end and that was a good enough way to put it at rest.

However i do like the part about how Mikey went up to the pitchers mound to "discuss a whats they should do. Oct 10, tushara rated it it was amazing. I loved how I got to meet Mikey and get to know him better because he was hands down my favorite before, and see his relationship with De become something. And at the same time, I fell for Luke even harder because he and Jessse are the cutest little things ever, and their relationship was so solid and unbreakable and SIGH.

I want my Luke. The twists and turns were at times a little frustrating, just because UGH. They were just not worth the emotional beatdown I experienced, but I loved the writing, and the way I experienced all the scenes and imagined everything playing out made up for any defects the story might have had. These two couples are just so perfect for each other.

Their chemistry as couples and as a group of friends is so obvious. Needless to say, The Final Score made me feel. And that is very important to me as a reader. Trio managed to write a book about two couples without it being so long, boring 4. Trio managed to write a book about two couples without it being so long, boring, and dragging.

I know there is no more reason to extend the series since the conclusion is perfect. But I really love these two couples I want to know more about their journey as Luke and Mikey become pros and see a whole new life with the kids. Jun 05, Alden in Wonderland rated it it was amazing. The first book was great! No words could express how much I love this book!

I wish I could hug each character for giving me a wild ride with their beautifully complicated stories, and for bringing me into tears. I'm not much of a cry baby when it comes to books, but damn this book really gutted me out. The pure love and emotions between the characters, their tragic experiences, and the happy ending after the hardships, all brought me into tears. Thank you to L.

Trio for writing The Game Changer series. They will always have a special place in my heart. Feb 11, Zizz rated it liked it. There were now 4 POVs in this book. But I liked all these characters that this was not a problem for me. In the end, this strategy made so much sense. The author knew better than to drag out Luke and JJ's story to justify this sequel. Once the major conflict in that relationship was resolved, Mikey and De's story took off.

There had been hints of their hidden feelings for each other beyond "sibling" affection in the first book. I actually think they make a more interesting couple to r 3.

I actually think they make a more interesting couple to read given that they have more fire in their personalities. What else can I say: I'm a sucker for all fictional baseball stories. Apr 15, Beverly rated it it was amazing Shelves: favorites.
