Broadcast ping on windows xp

Hope this helps. Hi Arvind,. Firstly, please let know the following:. More details about how you joined workgroup network switch cable to domain switch. What do you mean that the network hung. Are all the computers in a same subnet? Meanwhile, based on my understanding, you may need to add a router in the network.

Network hung.. Office Office Exchange Server. Not an IT pro? By mani. Hai, I am working in Python scripting. I an need to find out all the device connected in the network. Just I planned to broad cast the ping address and use the ARP table to get the IP address of the system in the network. As, I am working in Win XP i am not able to use ping -b command to broad cast.

If there is any possibilities please mention me. I am trying this for more that 2 week, no result from any one. It's not something you generally want systems to do, certainly not recently.

The problem is not with the system you are sending the broadcast out from but from the remote systems ignoring it. There may well be a registry key that can modify this EnableBcastArpReply under the TCPIP service key looks like a likely suspect but it would need to be changed on all the targets which makes the exercise a bit pointless if you are using the broadcast to discover systems. As Ricky mentioned below, the times of machines responding to broadcasts are long gone. However, if you want to test the broadcasts, try it on routers on the same broadcast segment. I find it odd that you are getting duplicate echo replies.
